Bernardina Diana Battistoni

Bernardina “Dina” D. Battistoni, 103, of Southwick, beloved wife for 42 years of the late John L. Battistoni, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Heritage Hall North. Born in Springfield on July 4, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Marina (Ret) DeMarco. Dina was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick. She had a special place in her heart for animals and donated her time and resources to animal shelters in the Greater Springfield area. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, John DeMarco, Naomi and Amelia DeMarco, and Europa Lodi. She leaves her son, Richard Battistoni of Longmeadow. She also leaves a family friend, Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Her family will receive friends on Monday, May 15th from 5-7 PM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Her Funeral will begin on Tuesday, May 16th from the funeral home at 10 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Southwick. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield.
