Dhirendra Mohan

LONGMEADOW - Dr. Dhirendra Mohan, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in India, and was the son of the late Kunj Behari Khanna and late Shanti Devi Khanna.  He graduated from King George Medical College (KGMC), Lucknow in 1967. Dr. Mohan was a cardiologist at Holyoke Medical Center for over 35 years. Prior to that, he practiced internal medicine at Providence, Rhode Island. He was deeply respected throughout the community and was well recognized for his outstanding community service. He was the President of Indian Association of Greater Springfield (IAGS) and an active member of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). Following retirement, he pursued his passion for travel and history by visiting various countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America with his wife. He was a knowledgeable person who spent time reading until the last breath of his life. Dr. Mohan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Neeru Mohan, his daughter Nidhi Mohan, one brother, four sisters, and extended family and many friends. Services for Dr. Mohan include visiting hours on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 3:00 - 4:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of his Life at 4:30 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation on 220 North Main Street in East Longmeadow.
