Feeding Hills John B. Timms, 83, devoted husband of 61 years to Judith (Hayden) Timms, passed away on January 9, 2018; surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Rahway, New Jersey on August 7, 1934, the son of the late John H. and Edith (Brannon) Timms.
John was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having honorably served during the Korean Conflict.
He retired after 39 years as a Supervisor, for Walbaums’s Foodmart, located in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
John was a resident of the Agawam area for 60 years and was a member of Agawam Congregational Church. He also belonged to the Agawam Revolver Club and the former Springfield Revolver Club. John was a Deputy Sherriff for Hampden County. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping and pulling his trailer.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Eric Timms and his wife Cathleen; a daughter Brenda Timms , all of Agawam; 3 grandchildren, Taylor Misiorski, Eliza Timms and Ethan Timms all of Agawam. John was predeceased by two sisters, June Davis and Diane Simpson.
A funeral home ceremony will be held at 10:00AM on Friday (January 12, 2018) in the Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St. , Agawam with rites of committal and military honor in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St. Agawam.
Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday (January 11, 2018).
