Louis D. Ciocca, 81, beloved husband for 49 years to Filomena (Cardaropoli) Ciocca, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Born in Macchiagodena, Italy on June 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Nicola and Anna Maria (DeCesare) Ciocca. Louis grew up in Italy before immigrating to the United States in the early 1950’s. Louis met and married Filomena in 1967, and they settled in West Springfield in 1971. He worked as a tailor when first arriving in the US before working for M.G. Kinsler Coat Factory. He went on to own and operate the White Eagle Liquor Store in Chicopee. He will be dearly missed by many family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife of 49 years, Filomena Ciocca; 4 loving daughters, Silvana Kelleher and her husband Glenn, Gina Capone and her husband Mario, Caroline Thompson and her husband Jason, and Andrea Marion and her husband Mark; 12 grandchildren; and his sister Dolores Fantone. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Antonio and Felice Ciocca. His family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20th from 8-10 AM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. His Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Springfield. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
