Lucia Santaniello

Agawam – Lucia (Liquori) Santaniello was a good hearted woman and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She enjoyed helping her son at Capri Pizza in Holyoke; as well as, gardening, cooking and taking care of her family. She passed away with her family by her side on Friday, June 16, 2017 in a local nursing home. Born in Bracigliano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Aniello and Anna (Daniele) Liquori. Lucia was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Her beloved husband of 47 years Alfonso Santaniello predeceased her in October 2007. She is survived by her son, Fiore Santaniello and his wife Rosa of Agawam, owners of Capri Pizza in Holyoke; her daughter Maria and her husband Nino Settembre, owners of Fantastico Wraps & Salad in Towersquare in Springfield; and her son Salvatore Santaniello of Agawam; six grandchildren, Alfonso, Salvatore and Gennaro Santaniello; Alfredo, Anthony and Nika Settembre and her fiancé Dominic Carraturo; and several nieces and nephews. Her granddaughter Lucia Santaniello predeceased her in 2010. Besides her parents and granddaughter, she was predeceased by her brothers Antonio, Gioacchino, Pasquale and Nicola Liquori and sister Alfonsina Iannone. Lucia’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 beginning at 8:45AM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street in Agawam, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield. Burial will follow in Springfield Street Cemetery in Feeding Hills. Visiting hours will be from 4:00-7:00PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
