Rita Bouchard

East Longmeadow - Rita Beaudoin Bouchard, 86, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother died January 8, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center with family by her side. The daughter of the late Eugene and Yvonne (Larochelle) Beaudoin, Rita was raised in Whitinsville and Springfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Cathedral High School. Rita married in 1954 and settled in East Longmeadow, MA in 1958, living there all of her life. A communicant of Saint Michael’s Parish, Rita found the greatest pleasure in spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years in 2002, Robert A. Bouchard. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Irene Reed and husband Harold of Ledyard, CT and her brother Roger Beaudoin of Westfield, MA. Rita will be dearly missed by her five daughters and their husbands: Nancy and Donald Burke of Dewey, Arizona; Jean and Blair Roberge of Groton, MA; Carol and Albert Kasper of East Longmeadow, MA; Joan and William Metcalf of Monson, MA and Christine and Troy Reeves of Madison, Wisconsin. She was very proud of her grandchildren and their families: Gregory and Amy Burke and children Xander and Cylee , Linnzy and Ryan Castillo and son Nolan; Amy and Justin Coleman, Doug Roberge, Sarah Metcalf and daughter Lailah, Kyle Metcalf, Seth Metcalf, Adam Kasper and fiancée Bryanna Alger, Scott and Rebecca Kasper, Candace Kasper, Ainsley Reeves and Owen Reeves. The family would like to thank the dedicated health professionals who cared for Rita over the years: the physicians and staff of Renal Services of Springfield; Dr. Peluso and staff of Baystate Medical Practices; the nursing staff at Baystate Medical Center; Springfield Visiting Nurses; Springfield Senior Services and the volunteers of the East Longmeadow Meals on Wheels program. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 12th from 4-8PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Rita’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13th from the funeral home at 8:45AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow at 10AM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations in Rita’s Memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
