Rita Rose Marie Robert

Rita R. (Bedford) Robert, 93, of Flourtown, PA, formerly of Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Flourtown, PA. Born in Springfield on September 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Adonai and Zephyrine Bedford. Rita graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to work for American Bosch as well as Mass Mutual for many years. Rita was a member of Holy Name Church in Springfield. Her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the pride and joy of her life. She will be missed by many family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman D. Robert and her brother Donald J. Bedford, both in 2000. She is survived by her son Ronald P. Robert and his wife Evelyn of Magnolia, DE; her daughter Dr. Dianne R. Soprano and her husband Kenneth of Lafayette Hill, PA; 4 grandchildren, Marc, Jeffrey, Catherine, and Andrew; 3 great-grandchildren, Henry, Avery and Margaret; and her sister-in-law Jeanne Bedford of Springfield.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, February 26th from 4-6 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Her funeral will begin on Monday, February 27th at 10:30 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at Holy Name Church, Springfield. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
