Longmeadow- Ronald H. Morrison, 89, devoted husband of 66 years to Barbara (VanOrman) Morrison, Ascended Into the Journey of Everlasting Life, on May 21, 2017. He was born on January 25, 1928 in Springfield, the son of the late Harold and Mildred (Gebbie) Morrison and was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area. Ronald was a graduate of A.I.C.; and also honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Ronald retired as a Sales Manager, employed for several wire and steel manufacturing companies. He was a professional magician, and traveled extensively thorough out the United States entertaining people. He was a member of S.A.M. (Society of American Magicians) and the G.O.O.F.U.S. Club. He was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Longmeadow, and was a member of the church’s men’s club. He and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the country, Europe and Africa. Ronald was predeceased by a beloved son, Dr. Mark B. Morrison. Besides his wife, he leaves a beloved son Kyle Morrison and is wife Janet, of East Longmeadow; his dear brothers in law, Richard VanOrman of California, Douglas VanOrman and his wife Irene, of Texas; a dear sister in law, Hilda Little of New Hampshire; a cherished nephew, William Coleman of Springfield; three cherished nieces, Kimberly Coleman, Susan Hitchcock and her husband Alan, Nina St.Laurent and her husband Dan, all of Southwick. Relative and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service with military honor at 1:00PM on Friday (May 26th, 2017) in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 895 Parker St., Springfield, MA (section-Oak Garden of Bronze). Please plan of arriving at the cemetery by 12:45PM and assemble by the Hillcrest Park Mausoleum, prior to the procession to the gravesite. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, and because of Ronald’s love of animals memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanah, Utah 847741. Memorial contributions locally can be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
