Shelly A. Salerno

July 31, 1983 ~ February 20, 2017 (age 33) 33 Years Old
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend, Shelly Ann (Specht) Salerno, 33, of Hampden, MA where she was born and raised.  She courageously fought brain cancer for 3 years. Shelly leaves behind her husband, Steve and her two children, Henry and Cecelia.  She is also survived by her mother, Cathy; her father, Brian and step mother, Christina; her brother, Brian, step brothers, Dustyn (Kim & niece Ava) and Nathan Dahn.  She also leaves behind Uncle Steve, Aunt Michelle, Cousins Daniele, Briana, and Steven Salerno.  Her surviving grandparents include Mary Jean Specht, Gerard and Helen Demers.  She was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends with too many to list, but not any less important.  Shelly was happy, beautiful and faithful. She loved spending time with her family, going on vacations to Rhode Island, living life to the fullest and will be missed dearly.  We will then celebrate her life at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA on Saturday, February 25th for visiting hours from 3-7PM.  A funeral home service for family and close friends will be held the next day, on Sunday, February 26th at 1PM.  Shelly requested guests wear bright colors to her celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shelly Salerno's Children's Education Fund Account #1057157935 and mailed to Peoples Bank, 1900 Wilbraham Rd., Springfield, MA 01120.
