Amelia May Roach

May 18, 1932 ~ November 20, 2022 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Obituary

Amelia May Roach was born in Springfield, MA on May 18, 1932 to Elias Kuselias and Mary Raheb Kuselias, and was one of six children. Amelia shared a special bond with her sisters Joan Ajmo, Gloria Cummings, and Lillian Kassir. They grew up singing in the choir of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and were joined by their cousins Peggy, Marion, and Annie. Amelia was an independent woman, and much like her brother Michael, showed determination and resilience in everything she pursued. She also had a younger brother Lewis, whom she lost in 1989.

After graduating from Commerce High School she pursued her dream of becoming a flight attendant, and soon moved to New York where she worked for PanAm Airways as an international flight attendant. Though traveling the world was exciting she longed to return home, and soon began working for United Airlines at Bradley Field. There she met her husband Jim Roach, and they were happily married for 52 years. They made their home in Enfield, CT where they raised their two daughters, Holly and Heidi. With countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, Amelia was happiest spending time with family.
In her “Golden Years” Amelia loved being a Grandma to Kaitlyn and Ryan. She always sang to them and loved to cook for them. Amelia wore her heart on her sleeve. She was kind and ever so generous.

She will be dearly missed by countless family members. She was an inspiration to many nieces and nephews, fulfilling dreams and a career when culture dictated otherwise. She was a beautiful person of unconditional love. Her greatest achievement was being a mother to Holly and Heidi. Her affection for her girls is why they were always devoted to her. Amelia rests forever in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory Heidi and Michael Borski, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ryan Borski, Holly and Mitchell Gluck, and sons Jordan and Justin Gluck.
