Angela Di Domenico, 98, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at J.G.S. Life Care in Longmeadow.
Angela was born on September 12, 1924 in Springfield; one of seven children, to the late Luigi and Marianna (Arpino) Raschilla. Shortly after graduating from Tech High School in 1942, she fell in love and married the love of her life, John “Jack” Di Domenico on November 11, 1946. They went on to have two beautiful daughters.
Angela was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family meant everything to her and was her first priority. Even after the passing of her husband in March of 1999, she maintained being the matriarch of her family. She will be remembered for her delicious homemade Italian dishes, as she was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed visiting Cape Cod and Hampton Beach, as well as her trip to Niagara Falls with her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino with family and friends. She will forever be missed by all who knew her and was loved by all. She will be especially missed by her son-in-law, John, as they’ve developed a very special, loving bond with each other.
She is survived by her two incredibly loving daughters Ann (Di Domenico) Joyce of East Longmeadow, and Barbara (Di Domenico) Govoni and her husband, John, of Hampden, MA. She leaves behind her three loving grandchildren James Joyce and his wife Jennifer of East Longmeadow, John Joyce and his wife Kellie of West Springfield, and Danny Morin. She leaves behind great grandchildren Rylee Joyce of West Springfield, Jameson Joyce of East Longmeadow and step great grandchildren Keegan Eli and Katie Eli of West Springfield, and Gina Govoni and Johnny Govoni. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 blessed years, John Di Domenico. She is also predeceased by her brothers Michael, Salvator, and Anthony “Kelly” Raschilla, as well as her sisters Catherine, Josephine, and Mary Raschilla.
The family would also like to thank the entire staff of J.G.S, as well as the hospice care for their support and taking such great care of their mother through this difficult time.
