Annina Palermo

East Longmeadow – Annina (Giancola) Palermo, 90, died on September 26, 2018. She was born March 6, 1928 in Macchiagodena, Iserna Italy to the late Nicola and Luisa (DiLolla) Giancola. She worked at Kengtsler Company in Springfield as a seamstress for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for all of her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed for her kind and loving ways. Annina was predeceased by her husband Mattia Palermo in 1977; a daughter Antonietta Bourque in 1999; and two brothers, Antonio and Michele Giancola. She is survived by her son, Antonio M. Palermo and his wife Kathleen of Wilbraham; and her daughter, Maria DiMichele and her husband Felix of East Longmeadow; 7 grandchildren, Ben and his wife Susie, Peter and his wife Linda, Jennifer and her husband Gary, Andrew, Pamela, Tony Jr., and Kristina; 6 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Natalie, Julianna, Joseph, Angelina, and James; and a sister, Carmena Notte in Italy. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 30th from 4-7PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 1st from the funeral home at 8:45AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Springfield at 10AM.
