Brian Howlett

EAST LONGMEADOW - On July 14, 2019 Brian Michael Howlett was called home to be with his heavenly Father. Brian attended local schools and graduated from Cathedral High School. His happiest days were spent as a Springfield firefighter. He was proud to have been a marine, serving in the reserves. Brian was an avid football fan and was waiting for his Raiders to be on top once again. He had a great sense of humor which brightened up so many family gatherings. He also had a huge heart and was there to help anyone who needed it. Brian was predeceased by his sister, Kate DeTomas, whose death left a big hole in his heart and led to his darkest days. Brian was emerging from his dark place and was beginning to heal when he suddenly became ill. To say he will be missed is such an understatement. Brian is mourned by his son Ryan Howlett of Longmeadow; his mother, Carolyn Price and her husband Bob of East Longmeadow; his father, Richard Howlett and friend Betty Ogden of Palmer; his aunt Joan DeNucci Yirga of Granby, Ct; along with many cousins. Visiting Hours are Thursday, July 18 from 4PM-7PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. Brian’s funeral services will be Friday, July 19 beginning at 8:45AM at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Michael’s Parish, East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
