Brian Moran

Brian D. Moran, 69, passed away on September 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, MA on February 8, 1954 to the late William J. Moran, Sr. and Barbara M. (Powers) Moran, he attended Chicopee Public Schools. He then obtained his Associates Degree in Environmental Science from Holyoke Community College.

For many years, Brian worked for Monsanto and then Bayer. He was on the hazmat teams for both. While residing in West Virginia for 11 years, he was also a volunteer at Oakland Fire Department.

In his spare time, he volunteered for: The Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master, and the Girl Scouts. He enjoyed hunting, camping, cooking, painting, travelling, gardening, fly fishing and fly tying.

To cherish his memory, Brian leaves his wife of 47 years, Paula (Goyette) Moran; his children Brendan Moran and his wife Kim, Andrea Verrengia and her husband Garrick; his grandchildren Kylie, Gavin and Peter; his great granddaughter Kacey-Rae; his brothers William “Bill” Moran, Jr. and his wife Donna, Kevin Moran, and Patrick Moran; his sisters Sherry Przybyla and Barbara Drzyzga and her husband Joe as well as many nieces, nephews and beloved pets.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick.
