Cosimo Racco

SPRINGFIELD – Cosimo Racco, 85, passed away at his home on July 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Siderno Marina RC, Italy on January 8, 1933 to the late Antonio and Angelina (Ieraci) Racco, he came to the United States in 1948. He had worked for Stop and Shop in the Produce Department for 27 years before retiring. Cosimo was a member of the Assunta Club and the Springfield Elks. To cherish his memory he leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Giuseppina (Commisso) Racco of Springfield; his sons, Anthony Racco and his wife Carmelina of East Longmeadow, Joseph Racco of Springfield, and Phil Racco and his wife Rosa of Somers, CT; grandchildren Anthony Racco and Angelina Racco; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Isabella; and his brother Joe Racco of Phoenix, AZ.  Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, July 12th from 5-8PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow.  Cosimo’s funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13th from the funeral home at 8:45AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Mt.
