David M. Bombard
December 7, 1955 ~ January 12, 2022 (age 66) 66 Years Old
David Michael Bombard 1955 – 2022 David Michael Bombard, 66, arrived at Heaven’s Gate on January 12, 2022. David would want his life celebrated with a beer, a burnout, and promise to live for today with family and friends. David was born on December 7, 1955 to Harold and Phyllis (Gonska) Bombard in Pittsfield MA. He grew up tearing up the streets of Southwick, and after high school worked for Kaman Aerospace and A. Schulman as a millwright until his retirement. Cars, especially his 1969 Chevelle, were his passion. David could always be found in his barn turned mechanics-dream garage tinkering under the hood of his beloved Chevelle or other HotRod muscle car. He burned rubber with the best of them, and always enjoyed going to the Cruise on Main Street in Manchester or Putnam BurnOut Car Shows. He loved racing his jeep in the mudbogs, tearing up the track at Lebanon Valley, inspecting the latest swap meet or tag sale, and taking home the treasures he found along his way. We know David, anything free is for me. His laughter, his fun personality and his carefree attitude on life brought so much love, joy and happiness to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his children Jaime Bombard and her partner Glenn, of Enfield CT, Ryan Bombard and his wife Melissa of Astatula FL, Amber Nelson of Bellevue NE, and Kyle Bombard and his girlfriend Gina of New Haven CT, his mother Phyllis Bombard of Southwick, his grandchildren Alexis and Eric Thibodeau, Kayden and Marcello Gill, Jayla Nelson and Ryan Bombard Jr, his siblings Robert Bombard and his partner Leigh of Southwick MA, Michelle Bombard of Agawam MA and Diane Vella and her husband Matt of Westfield, and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Harold Bombard. David’s family would like to thank his dedicated friends Chuck and Mike for their care of David these last few years. All are invited to celebrate David’s life on Saturday January 22, 2022 from 10-12pm in Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Hwy, Southwick MA. His life celebration service is at 12pm followed by burial in New Cemetery, Southwick. As David would say, “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time”. Cheers David. Memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or Center for Dementia Research, Nathan Kline Institute, 140 Old Orangeburg Rd., Orangeburg, NY 10962.
