Donald Thomas Vivenzio

Donald “Don” T. Vivenzio, 67, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on August 21, 1949, he was the son of the late Andrew A. and Catherine (Stawarz) Vivenzio. Don was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Mississinewa. He was employed at Smith & Wesson for his entire career. Don was a member of the Ludlow Fish and Game Club and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield.Don will be missed dearly by his wife of 46 years, Jean (Pafumi) Vivenzio; his loving daughter Dawn Vandevanter and her husband Mark of Suffield, CT; his pride and joy, his grandson Cole; his sister-in-law, Judi Vivenzio; and his nephew Anthony Vivenzio and his wife Tina of Orlando, FL. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers Albert Vivenzio and Richard Vivenzio and his wife Julie; and his nephew Vinny Vivenzio.His family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16th from 4-8 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. His Funeral will begin on Wednesday, May 17th at 8:45 AM from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Springfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield.
