Dorothy Wait

Agawam – Dorothy “Dot” M. Wait, 93, beloved aunt, was called to eternal rest after a long illness on March 18, 2018 at Wingate of Hampden. Dorothy was born in Brattleboro, VT to the late Donald and Lucien (Bassett) Wait on September 18, 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of West Springfield High School. Dot was an office worker employed at Gilbarco in West Springfield for 20 years. She then went on to work at Breck-American Cynamid for 20 more years retiring in 1987. She was a longtime member of Bethany Assembly of God. For 25 years, Dot was active in the “Bethany Hour” radio ministry and the choir. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Waite and her sister, Esther (Wait) Lundstrom. She leaves her niece, Deborah (Waite) Radtke and her husband Paul of Feeding Hills; many nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family would like to thank the Atriam in Agawam, Wingate at Hampden, and Compassus Hospice for their expertise and compassionate care over the past few years. Family and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Thursday, March 22nd form 10-11AM at Bethany Assembly of God Chapel, 580 Main St., Agawam followed by a service at 11AM. Burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Foreign Missions, 580 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001.
