Frank DeCaro, 74, passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2023, with his family at his side. Born July 11, 1949 to the late Luigi and Carmela (Santaniello) DeCaro, he was a graduate of Trade High School. He raised his family in Agawam and worked 54 years co-owning DeCaro Bros. Landscape and Garden Center, where he retired in 2021. He was a builder by trade and master tinkerer. His nickname was Frankie Fix It. His first craft of carpentry was his passion, behind each project was a vision never to big to complete. He took great pride in teaching tricks of his trade to his son, son in laws, and grandchildren. He enjoyed family vacations and creating countless wonderful memories with his loved ones. He gave the best advice to his family and worked very hard to provide for them. Frank is survived by his wife of 49 years and the love of his life Joanne DeCaro; daughters Carmelina LaRocque and her husband Jason, Tina Castro and her husband Tony, his son Frank DeCaro and his wife Angela; grandchildren Antonio, Marisa, Lucia, and Jason LaRocque, Isabella, Antonio, Julianna, Arianna, and Matteo Castro; late sister Angela (DeCaro) Ferrentino and her husband Mario, three brothers Joe DeCaro and his wife Maria, Luigi DeCaro and his wife Sharon, Eddie Santaniello and his wife Beverly; his special family in Italy, his father in law the late Francesco DeCaro and mother-in-law Lucia Grimaldi, brother in law Lorenzo DeCaro and his late wife Nunzia Grimaldi; sister in laws, Silvia DeCaro and her husband Luigi Santaniello, Vincenza DeCaro and husband Francesco Basile, Rosa DeCaro and her husband Mario Botta; special cousin Pasqualina and John Gioella; dearest friends John and Tina Giordano, and the late Alexander Carosella and wife Teresa; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends. His family sincerely thanks the oncology staff of the Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston, Dr. Mcann and all the staff at the D’Amour Cancer Center, Dr. Paul Farkas who was not only his doctor but a trusted friend, Sister Betty who brought him great peace and support. The calling hours are 4pm-7pm Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA . His funeral is Monday, November 20, 2023 at 8:45am at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Springfield at 10am with burial in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Mt.
