Gordon W. Campbell, Sr.

EAST LONGMEADOW – Gordon W. Campbell, Sr., 95, passed away on October 16, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on September 5, 1923 to the late George and Louise “Minnie” (Freytag) Campbell, he was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School. From July, 1943 – May, 1946, Gordon proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He had worked as a Foreman for New England Telephone Co. and retired after 40 years of service. He then was self-employed at B&R Communications. Gordon was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling and cruises, the casino, weekly dinners with his family and visiting his friends at Donut Dip every day. His family will fondly remember him for being a jokester and his funny wit. Predeceased by his loving wife Clara (Glaze) Campbell, his son Gordon Campbell, Jr. and his brother George Campbell, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Judith Cox of East Longmeadow, Susan Archdeacon and her husband Paul of Stowe, VT and Nancy Donahue and her husband Michael of East Longmeadow and his grandchildren Michael Donahue, Jr. and Meghan Donahue both of Enfield, CT. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 4 – 6:30 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow with a service at 6:30 PM.
