John Edward McKay

John E. McKay of Southwick peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Friday May 31, 2019. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Lorraine, his daughter Andrea Cummings (Mike) of Southwick, his son Daniel (Amanda) of Springfield, and his 5 grandchildren Kya, Jillian, Donovan, Lucas, and Colin, who he dearly adored. He also leaves a brother Philip (Donna) of Westfield and a sister Sandi Dostie (Leonard) of Hampden, ME. He was predeceased by his parents John R. and Patricia, and a brother Joseph. John most recently worked for the Town of Southwick as a maintenance technician for all the municipal properties. He spent 32 1/2 years serving as a volunteer firefighter for the Southwick Fire Department retiring with the honor of holding badge 1 (senior member). Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours 3-6pm Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA.
