Kevin M. Beecher

Kevin M. Beecher of Longmeadow, passed away on January 4, 2019 with his family surrounding him on his last day.

He leaves his wife, Angela, of 53 years; three sons, Michael and his wife Lisa of Chicopee, Joseph and his wife Donna of Springfield and Christopher and his wife Casey of East Longmeadow; his seven grandchildren Alexi, Madison, Chloe, Jameson, Hayden, Vincent and Ellie; his sister Maureen Maloney of Springfield; and his brother-in-law Leonard Chiariello and his wife Maryellen of Westwood. He also leaves behind a friendship of over 50 years with Ray and Robbie Phaneuf of Bradenton, FL and Barbara Connery and her late husband Tommy of Feeding Hills. Kevin’s brother, Larry Beecher predeceased him in 2009.

He was employed by the Springfield Newspapers for 47 years. He was a member of the Lions Club in Sixteen Acres and was involved with the Cub Scouts as the Pack Master of Pack 173 at Foster Memorial Church. Kevin was also a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield and served as an usher for many years.

Calling hours are from 4 – 7 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 beginning at 9:45 AM at the funeral home followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield. Committal services will be in Gate of Heaven, Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Tinkham Rd. Springfield.
