Obituary

Lois A Kvitek (Adams Forbes), loving wife and mother, age 80, passed away on  June 2, 2020 at home in S. Newfane, Vermont surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.
Lois was born in Montague, MA on January 4, 1940, the daughter of the late Ruth M (Gregory) and Arthur B Adams. Lois graduated from Commerce High school class of 1957. During her formative school years, she was active in the Rainbow Girls and was part of a quartet called the Do Re Me’s.
Lois was married to Harold Kvitek on May 15, 1981; they were married for almost 40 years. Through their hard work they were able to retire in their 50’s and fulfill their dream of owning a farm in South Newfane Vermont . There they ran a bed and breakfast and antiques consignment shop. Those years were some of the happiest times of Lois’ life. Lois enjoyed meeting new people through the bed and breakfast and was able to devote more time to her craft hobbies. Her children, grandchildren and extended family have many fond memories of times with Lois and Harold on the farm, especially when the grandkids were young and would all descend upon them for school vacation weeks!
Prior to Lois’ marriage to Harold she worked at the Springfield Library as a bookkeeper for a number of years. During her time in Vermont she was active in the Townsend Business Association and during maple syrup season, Harold and Lois were hosts to many pre-school classes who came to visit them on the farm to see the maple sugar process in action.
Lois is survived by her husband Harold G Kvitek, her daughter Susan (Forbes) Sheehan and her partner David Simard of Hampton, NH, stepchildren Kim Plunkett of, Tewksbury, MA and Rick Kvitek of Westfield, MA., adored grandchildren James Sheehan of NYC, Julia Sheehan of Acton, MA, Sean Plunkett of Providence, RI and Erin Plunkett of Derry, NH,. brother Ronald Adams and his wife Susan of Waltham, MA, sister Joyce(Adams) Miscovitch and her husband Theo of New Brunswick, Canada and many nieces and nephews.
