Obituary

LONGMEADOW – At the age of 94, after a lifetime full of love, happiness, and adventures Louise Brisset Denis of Longmeadow, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Ruth’s House with her family at her side. Born in Holyoke, MA on June 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Leona (Benard) Brisset. In 1948, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where she met her loving husband, Robert B. Denis, Sr.

Louise dedicated herself to her family and built a loving and supportive home in Longmeadow where she lived for 61 years. As her children grew older, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Longmeadow School System. As a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the St. Mary’s Guild. She loved traveling with her husband and children throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cheering them on at various events and loving them with all her heart.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert B. Denis, Sr. who passed away in November, 2015 and her siblings George Brisset and Pauline Sheehan.

Louise is survived by her three children, Marlee Denis Mooney (Thomas) of West Hartford, CT and their children, Emilee Scott (James) and Caroline Hammel (Christopher); Robert B. Denis, Jr. (Holly) of Longmeadow and his children, Taylor Shea (Christopher) and Lauren Talbot (Sean) and his step-children, Crystal and Tiffany Phaneuf; and Diane Denis Aye (Scott) of Longmeadow and their children, Katherine Kadar (Andrew), Captain Christine Aye, (Kristina Moore), and William Aye (fiancée Abby Aveni); and her great-grandchildren Vivian, Thomas, Christopher Robert (Ro), Oliver, Emma, Caroline, John, Louise (Weezy), Harvey, and Henry.

Funeral services will be private for the family and have been entrusted to Forastiere Smith Funeral Home.
