Margaret Mary McCracken

Wethersfield CT – Margaret Mary (Newcombe) McCracken, 102, died on Monday May 9, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born on March 17, 1920 to the late John and Margaret (Manley) Newcombe in Archbald PA. Margaret was a longtime resident of Longmeadow and a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish in Longmeadow. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Longmeadow School Department until her retirement.
She will be deeply missed by her children Richard McCracken and his wife Diane of Holland MA, Patricia Morowsky and her husband Stephen of Farmington CT, Mary Elizabeth Quick and her husband Kevin of East Longmeadow MA, Jean Anne McCracken Turcotte and her husband Jim of Wethersfield CT, her eight grandchildren Amy McCracken Durkin and her husband Tom, Audrey McCracken, Katarina Morowsky, Krista Quick Riley and her husband Christopher, Kayla Quick Orszulak and her husband Matt, Jimmy Turcotte, Matthew Turcotte and Madeline Turcotte, and her two great-grandchildren Conor and Griffin Riley.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Edward
McCracken and many family members.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the many healthcare providers for their compassionate care of Margaret these last many years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation at 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA with Rite of Committal to follow at St. Michael’s the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
