Obituary

Feeding Hills – Marilyn M. (Ray) Ashline, 75, passed away surrounded by family on November 3, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Marilyn was born on November 29, 1943 to the late Charles and Marion (Cosman) Miller. Marilyn grew up in Feeding Hills and soon after marrying, moved to Springfield to raise her family. There she worked as a School Bus Driver for 33 years until she was no longer able to. She loved being a Bus Driver for the school children and spoke about it fondly. After her father passed she moved in to the house she grew up in, where spent the rest of her life. She loved traveling, sitting by the waters of places like Storotown and Mystic CT. She loved watching the Yankees and the Cowboys, and she was a woman who always spoke her mind. Her passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who she spoiled every chance she got. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her best friend Ann Fruwirth. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Renee Tirozzi of Southbridge and Michele Adkins and her husband Curtis of Palmer; her son Norman Ashline III of Palmer; 7 grandchildren Stephanie Allen and her husband Michael, Jonathan Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Brittany O’Connor and her husband Michael, Toni Tirozzi, Michael Tirozzi, and Tyler Stasiak; 2 great-granchildren Hannah Kupiec and Avery Allen, and one on the way; her lifetime partner Frank Tarantino Jr. of Springfield, and many extended family and friends. Marilyn’s family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Baystate Medical Center the Heart and Vascular Critical Care Unit for all the care and support they gave Marilyn. Calling hours will be on Friday November 8, 2019 from 4-7pm in the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow MA. Burial will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston MA 02241-7005.
