Marshall N Wood

LONGMEADOW- Marshall N. Wood, 92, husband of the late Joan (Holleran) Wood, died February 12, 2021. Marshall was born in Pittsfield, MA, the son of the late Dr. Marshall and Anne (Feeney) Wood. He was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1954 graduate of Colgate University. He served his country in the United States Army, having received an honorable discharge in 1949, and went on to serve in the Army Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge as Captain. Marshall retired as a financial planner from Blair, Cutting, and Smith Insurance Agency, Inc. Previously, he was a manager of the local branch of Travelers Insurance Company for over 30 years. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center and Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee. He is survived by two sons, Stephen Wood (Nieves) of Madrid Spain, Richard Wood (Victoria) of Napa, CA; two daughters, Patricia Webler (Douglas) of Northborough, MA, Suzanne Minnick (Robert) of Greenwich, CT; 10 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family. A private graveside service will be held in the Longmeadow Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
