Mary B. Rufenacht

East Longmeadow – Mary Bruce (Low) Rufenacht, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on April 6, 2019 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Andover, MA, to the late James and Jean (Haddon) Low on May 8, 1920. She was a 1937 graduate of Ludlow High School and went on to further her education earning her Associates Degree from Bay Path College in 1939. Mary was a secretary for Monarch Life Insurance Company, East Longmeadow Recreation Department and lastly retired in 1976 from Pleasant View School in East Longmeadow. She was a member of First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, George Andre Rufenacht in 1990; her daughter, Sharon M. Henry in 2014; her brothers, James and William Low; and her sister Jean Scott. Mary leaves her son Barry B. Rufenacht and his partner Janice Brown of East Montpelier, VT; her daughter, Andrea J. Lissette of Silver Springs, MD; her 9 grandchildren, Michele Schimpp and her husband Tim, Michael Wozniak, Jamie Lissette and his wife Hannah, Dylan Lissette and his wife Stacie, Heath Henry, Meagan Henry, Graham Rufenacht and his partner Jackie Batten, Brandon Henry, and Jesse Rufenacht and his wife Samantha Boymer; and her 11 great-grandchildren. Mary’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 11AM at First Congregational Church, 7 Somers Rd., East Longmeadow, MA. Interment will be held on Monday, April 29th at 11AM in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
