Obituary

Normand O. Lamoureux, 91, of Agawam, MA; passed away peacefully February 14, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born June 8, 1929 in Chicopee, MA, he was a son to the late Lionel and Florette (Belrose) Lamoureux.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving our country proudly with the U.S. Army.  He married Rosalie “Rose” A. (Etkin) Lamoureux on July 16, 1951.  Together they owned and operated Oliver Auto Body, and being an entrepreneur, grew the business to six shops and salvage yards.   Normand a legend of his time, was known for his humble, caring and generous ways.  He was a mentor to his family, especially his son, Paul who took over the family business.    He was also deeply involved with his community starting the Gold Badge in four area counties for the Chiefs of Police. Normand was an honorary member of the Western Mass. Police Chief’s Association and co- founder, scholarship fund. Normand assisted in countless areas with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department with Sheriff Michael Ashe and Sheriff Nicholas Cocchi.  Normand enjoyed his time in Florida golfing with his wife and friends, and also loved playing softball, bowling and playing cards with his sisters.  His greatest passion however, was spending time with his family.  Normand leaves to cherish his legacy his children Gail Richards and her husband, Mark of Sturbridge, MA, Denise Burek and her husband, Michael of Ludlow, MA, and Paul Lamoureux and his wife, Mary of Indian Head, SC; his five grandchildren, especially his granddaughter Lindsay Lamoureux who was his live-in caregiver for several years; his six great-grandchildren; sisters Gloria and Norma; along with numerous nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents and wife, Rose, he was predeceased by his sisters Anita and Marguerite.  A private service will be held at the convenience of his family.  Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation has been entrusted with arrangements.
