Peter M Phillips

East Longmeadow- Peter M. Phillips, 80, passed away on March 3, 2021. Peter was born on September 25, 1940 in Newark NJ to the late Arthur and Theresa (Shea) Phillips and eventually lived in Springfield. Later, Peter moved to East Longmeadow, and he worked as an etcher at Industrial Etching in East Longmeadow. Along with his loving wife, Peter, worked for 22 years as an East Longmeadow District Manager for the Springfield Republican Newspaper.
Peter always loved family gatherings, exercising in the pool, diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan, taking trips in the car (even if it were just to see Christmas lights), Wheel of Fortune, and old western movies. Most of all, he loved going to every sport game played by his grandchildren. “Poppie” was their hugest fan and they were his pride and joy.
Peter leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Judith (Buchanan) Phillips of East Longmeadow, his children Derryl Bohaboy and her husband Chuck of East Longmeadow, Scott Phillips and his wife Katie of Brimfield, his three grandchildren Jeffrey Paul Jr., Corissa and Shane.
Peter’s family would like to thank the Baystate VNA for their care they gave to Peter during his challenging times, along with Dr. Mary Adler and her staff at Enfield Medical Associates. Also, thank you to Springfield Medical Associates, and Kidney Care & Transplant Services of New England.
A celebration of Peter’s life will begin on Monday March 8, 2021 from 10:30am -12pm in Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be private.
