Raymond P. Olson

Raymond P. Olson, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, July 12, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 4, 1935 in Springfield, MA, he was a son to the late Paul R. and Catherine (Marra) Olson. Ray was employed with Richco Products, receiving the Richco Products Salesman of the Year award in 1989, and retiring after 47 years of service. He was a longtime member of the Agawam Lion’s Club where he served as President from 1984-85 and 1996-97. He also was the recipient of the Lion’s Club International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Alice (Conlin) Olson; sons Michael J. and his wife, Janice of Southwick, Daniel P. and his wife, Tricia and Glenn T. Olson all of Feeding Hills; daughters Jeanne M. Beltrandi and her husband, John of Westfield, Laurie Ann Loomis and her husband, James of Feeding Hills, and Julie Ann Antico of Westfield. Ray also leaves 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Robert and his wife, Dora, and Paul Olson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Bruce and Richard Olson. Calling hours for Ray will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, MA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18th beginning at 8:45AM from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10:00AM, at Sacred Heart Church, Feeding Hills.
