Richard Laliberte

Richard A. Laliberte of Largo, FL, formerly of East Longmeadow, MA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2018. He was born in South Attleboro, MA on January 29, 1933. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he married his wife of 63 years, Jeannette (Boisvert) Laliberte, and settled in East Longmeadow, MA, where they raised their 4 children. Richard worked for 35 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT. Upon retirement, Richard and Jeannette moved to Largo, FL where they enjoyed various leisure activities. Richard served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Largo, FL and was an active member of The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Assembly 163. Richard is survived by his wife Jeannette, daughter Janet and her husband Jonathan Bray of Longmeadow, MA, daughter Cheryl and her husband Peter Abel of Fort Mill, SC and son Bryant and his wife Patricia (Robinson) of Gardner, MA. Richard was predeceased by his daughter Marianne (Laliberte) Lampro in 1996 and leaves 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Sarah and Samuel Bray, Christopher, Carolyn (McGowan) and Laurie Abel, Jeannette Krapf), Kathleen and Matthew Laliberte and Jennifer and Kevin Lampro as well as 2 great grandsons. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial and military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to Knights of Columbus c/o St. Catherine of Siena Church 1955 S.
