Obituary

LONGMEADOW – Richard J. Schwarzenbach, Sr., 67, passed away on January 13, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Westfield, MA on July 30, 1953 to the late Marion C. and Lucille A. (Dolinski) Schwarzenbach, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
For 30 years, Rick was employed at the United States Postal Service.
He was a man from a different generation. He loved and married his high school sweetheart, provided for his family and loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. Rick was a man that stood on his principles right or wrong. He loved to fish, sit on his back porch, go visit Marco Island, the Red Sox, fishing Lake Champlain or just spend time sitting at the fire pit with a cold one. His family will fondly remember that there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for those that he loved.
To cherish his memory he leaves, his wife Laurie (Facey) Schwarzenbach of Longmeadow; his sons Richard Schwarzenbach, Jr. and Shaun Schwarzenbach and his fiancée Tesia; his grandchildren Haylie, Kacie, Amberly, and Grace; his brother Robert Schwarzenbach; his sisters Rhonda Meunier and Shelley Choquette as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12 Noon – 2 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA with a service to follow at 2 PM. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED.
