Robert C. Meagher Jr.

AGAWAM – Robert C. Meagher, Jr., 84, passed away on May 8, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, MA on October 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert C. Meagher, Sr. and Louise (Pelletier) Meagher. He obtained his Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and proudly served in the United States Army Reserves.

For 35 years, Robert was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2001. In his spare time, he loved watching 22 News and the weather updates as well as spending time with his best bud and grandson, Jack. He was also an avid New England Sports fan.

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith (Cochrane) Meagher, who passed away in September, 2013 and his son, Sean Meagher, who passed away in October, 2020. To cherish his memory, he leaves his son Michael Meagher and his wife Christy of Agawam; his grandson Jack and his lifelong friend Robert “Mr. B.” Bontempo.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 12 Noon – 1 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam, MA. A service will be held at 1 PM and burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, State Street, Springfield.
