Roland F. Aubin

Roland F. Aubin, 79, of Springfield, beloved husband of 52 years of the late Diane (Richardson) Aubin, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Born on February 17, 1938 and raised in Springfield, he was the son of the late Roland J. and Rose F. (Langone) Aubin. Roland served in the US Marine Corps Reserves. He received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from American International College and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Education from UMASS. Roland was a Tenured Professor at AIC for 34 years before retiring. Roland and Diane were long-time communicants of Holy Name Church.
He is survived by his son, Michael A. Aubin and his wife Linethe of Springfield, two daughters, Christine D. Wheble and her husband Robert of Springfield, and Elizabeth D. Piteo and her husband Randy of Springfield, seven grandchildren, Taylor, Adrienne, Karla, & John Aubin, Bridget Wheble, and Anthony & Mia Piteo; and his brother James Aubin and his wife Carol of Springfield. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9th from 4-7 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. His Funeral will begin on Thursday, August 10th at 8:45 AM from the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Name Church, Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
