East Longmeadow- Ronald “THE FARMER” Isaac Goldstein, 78, devoted husband of 49 years to Marlene (Mazur) Goldstein, Ascended Into the Journey of Everlasting Life, on May 6, 2019, surrounded by his loving family following a prolonged illness.
Ronald was born on March 30, 1941 the son of the late Samuel and Marie (Lindner) Goldstein; and was a resident of East Longmeadow all of his life. He was educated in local schools and attended Boston University. He served as Squad Leader in the United States Marine Corps. Reserves from 1962-1968.
Ronald and his family owned and operated Western Massachusetts Theaters Inc., a chain of movie theaters located in Western Massachusetts and in Vermont; The Calvin (Northampton), Bing and Paramount (Springfield), Casino (Ware), Majestic (West Springfield) and Rivoli (Chicopee) to name a few. Ronald was the owner of “Happy Acres Farm” in East Longmeadow and spent many years donating fresh vegetables to local foodbanks.
In addition to Marlene, Ronald will be missed by his loving and adoring family, a son Kenneth Goldstein; a daughter Virginia (Goldstein) Forbes both of East Longmeadow; grandchildren Joseph Goldstein of Chicopee, Kaitlyn, Nolan and Colin Forbes, all of East Longmeadow.
The family will celebrate his life with a gathering from 5:00PM- 8:00PM, on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in the Forastiere Smith Family Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
A funeral home service will take place during the visiting period at 7:30PM.
