Ruel A Jackson

Springfield - Ruel (Jack) A. Jackson, 84, passed peacefully at home on March 21, 2020. He was born on July 12, 1935 in Negril, Jamaica to the late Redverse and Edna Jackson. Jack worked most of his life in production and manufacturing businesses. He enjoyed house painting, gardening, fishing, and being with his family. Jack was a humble and honest man, a positive person who was always smiling, willing to help people no matter what they needed. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years Dolores, his stepson Henderson Peterkin, and three brothers Clayton, Daniel, and Joseph Jackson. Jack leaves behind a son Adrian Hines of Jamaica, his daughters Carol Jackson Cruz of Tampa, FL, Wanda Jackson of Springfield, Vivienne Jackson of Bridgeport, CT, Heather Phillips of Springfield, and Denise Phillips of East Hartford, CT. His loving siblings William, Loretta, Gershom Jackson, and Linda Maciolek. His beloved grandchildren Yvonne, Jessica, Rainelle, Elizabeth, Daniel, Tévon, Trévon, and great-grandchildren Jarion and Noah. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, his beloved godson Meshach and many extended family members and loving friends. Jack’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone who came into contact with him and enriched his life, especially all medical staff and senior and caregiving agencies who showed exceptional care but a very special thank you to his doctors: Dr. James Haddad, Dr. Dennis DiCampli, Dr. Susan Landry, Dr. Shaukat Matin, Dr. Mark Jackowitz and Dr. Scott Halista. A Zoom memorial service will be held Saturday August 15, 2020 at 2:30pm in the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow.
