Obituary

Salvatore Persico, 62, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2020. Born in Springfield, MA on January 30, 1958, Sal was the son of William Persico and the late Carmela Cava. Sal graduated from Springfield Technical High School; where he then went on to proudly serve our country in the U.S Navy. For many years following his service, Sal pursued many passions, including working as a police officer in Pompano Beach, FL and owning his own salons and art studio. He later went on to work in sales with Marubeni Citizen-Cincom, Inc. In his spare time, Sal enjoyed salsa dancing, yoga with his significant other, Caroline Novelli of West Springfield, MA, working out, cooking, and most of all spending time with his family and loved ones. Sal had an infectious smile that could light up any room. At any party, you could catch Sal tearing up the dance floor. Sal will forever be remembered and loved by his children, Julianne and her husband Christopher Marchetto of Southampton, MA, Salvatore, currently serving our country in the U.S. Air Force, Talia, and Rocco all of Agawam, MA. His sisters, Maria Persico and her husband Gary Griffin of Webster, NY, Julie Palazzi of Agawam, Ma, and Rachelle Vivenzio of Suffield, CT; his father Wiliam Persico and his wife Rosemarie Raupers of Satellite Beach, FL; and his many nieces and nephews. The visiting hours to celebrate Sal’s life will be on Tuesday, June 30th from 4 to 8pm at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home located at 985 Main Street, Agawam (masks and social distancing required). His funeral services will resume on Wednesday, July 1st at 9AM from the funeral home with the procession to church leaving at 10AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church at 833 Main Street, Agawam at 10:30 AM (masks and social distancing required). In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Ride-to-Remember, 1500 Main St. P.O.
