Shane A. Hickey

Shane Albert Hickey age 30, known affectionately as "Shaner", lost his battle with drug addiction on January 23, 2021. "If love could cure addiction, there would be no addicts". Born in Springfield, he was the son of Terence and Victoria (Almeida) Hickey; and was a life long resident of Southwick . He was a 2009 graduate of Southwick High School; where he was very active in cross country running. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI; and was a proud member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Shane was employed by Simscroft -Echo Farms Inc. in Simsbury, CT. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church, in Southwick. Shane enjoyed visiting breweries, snow boarding, and was an avid reader enjoying biographies or anything historical. In addition to his parents, Shane is survived by his two sisters, Lauren Hickey of Warwick, RI, Emily Hickey of Southwick; special friends, Spencer, Dakota, Mike, Dan ,among countless other friends; uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Calling hours will be held from 4:00PM-8:00PM on Friday January 29,2021 in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick.
