Theresa L. Strozzi

West Springfield –
Theresa (Terry) Lucia Strozzi, 84 passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 21, 1933 in Springfield, MA to the late Peter and Rose (Chriscola) Lucia. Terry was raised in Agawam, MA and graduated from Agawam High School and Baypath College in Longmeadow, MA. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, MA.

Terry worked at UMass Amherst and at the Springfield Museum Corporation, but began her career at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks, CT where she met her husband. They were married in 1956 and moved to West Springfield, MA where they raised their two children. Terry enjoyed theater, art, reading, flowers, playing bridge, golf, travel, and especially her annual vacations to Wells, Maine. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana, aunt and friend.

Terry was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, John V. Strozzi; her son, John E. Strozzi; her brothers Raymond, Peter and Ralph Lucia; and her sister Anita (Lucia) Hastings. She leaves her loving daughter Diane
Lafrance and her husband Gary, of Granville, MA; her “favorite” grandson, Alexander Lafrance of Dallas, TX; her sister in law, Carole Chamberlain of Woburn, MA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Kidney Care & Transplant Services of New England, especially Dr. Arley Diaz, as well as the Baystate Medical Center physicians, nurses, and staff for the kind, compassionate and dignified care she received.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday May 21, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2018 beginning at 8:30 AM at the funeral home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Highway, West Springfield.
