Obituary

Feeding Hills - Thomas J. Moriarty Jr. 71, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and teacher passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022. Tom was married to the love of his life, Barbara (Woishnis) Moriarty for 45 years.
 Tom was born in Springfield, to the late Thomas J. Moriarty Sr. and Edna (Krager) Moriarty. Tom was a longtime resident of Agawam and an active parishioner of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Springfield. Thomas received a Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State University and a Master’s Degree in Education from American International College.
 Thomas was an inspired and dedicated teacher, sharing his love of American History for 38 years, most notably at the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Indian Orchard. In his free time, Thomas enjoyed basketball, reading, and collecting anything and everything “moose” – his family’s favorite animal. Tom was a longtime volunteer at Storrowton Village Museum, where he received the honor of being Host of the Day during the Big E, one of his favorite yearly events.
  In addition to his wife, Thomas leaves a son, Andrew Moriarty of NYC; two daughters, Jeanne Moriarty and Monica Aldrich and husband Richard, all of Feeding Hills; a twin brother, Timothy Moriarty and his wife Cheryl of Florida; he was Dziadzia to three grandchildren, Jacob, Madison and Mackenzie Aldrich. Thomas is also survived by many extended family members.
 The family will greet friends from 4:00PM-7:00PM , on Friday (May 13, 2022), at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main St., Agawam.
 On Saturday (May 14th, 2022) a funeral mass will be offered at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St., Agawam. Burial will be at a later date.
