Phyllis N. Manzi

Phyllis N. Manzi, 74, of East Longmeadow and formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing. Born on May 7, 1943 in East Longmeadow, she was the daughter of the late Earl Goodrich and Alice (Chandler) Goodrich. Phyllis was the Activities Director for the City of Springfield Senior Services for many years before retiring in 2008.  Planning activities for her family and friends brought her great joy. She loved to perform and was a member of the West Side Tappers. Phyllis was the winner of Ms. Massachusetts Senior Pageant in 2009. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Besides her mother Alice Goodrich, she is survived by 2 sons, James Manzi of Agawam, and Dr. Joseph Manzi of Farmington, CT; 2 brothers, Ronald Goodrich and his wife Kathy, and Doug Goodrich and his wife Linda; 4 sisters, Martha Nulph and her husband Clifford, Roberta Sheltra, Dorothy Ingram and her husband Donald, and Gwendolyn Lenox and her husband John; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Goodrich. A special thank you to her care givers at Heritage Woods and at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31st from 4-7 PM at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Her Funeral will take place on Wednesday, November 1st at the funeral home at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery.
