Springfield – Silvio Anthony Vivenzio, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Wed. April 26th, 2017 with his family at his side. Born in Quindici, Italy to the late Filippo and Mariangela (Scibelli) Vivenzio, he was a graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. Silvio was employed with MetLife Insurance Co. for 42 years, retiring in 2009 as an Account Executive. He was a member of the Longmeadow Unico Chapter and the East Longmeadow Rotary. He coached baseball and soccer over the years for Holy Name and the Coaches Club. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Dolores A. (Piekarz) Vivenzio in 2014 and by his siblings, Annina Rubinacio, Michael Vivenzio and Elena DeStasio. He is survived by his three children, Tony Vivenzio and his wife Mary Frances, Nina Vivenzio and Andrew Vivenzio; his siblings, Angelina Graziano, Vincent Vivenzio, Loretta Ford and Alfredo Vivenzio; five grandsons and by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Sun. April 30th from 4–7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow. Silvio’s funeral ceremony will be on Mon. May 1st starting at 8:45 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William St. Spfld. Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Spfld. Memorial donations may be made in Silvio’s memory to the Longmeadow Chapter of Unico, PO Box 60992, Longmeadow, MA 01116-0992.
